SoulMates Review

Hello guys! I hope you are all doing great!

Today I want to chat about the tv series SoulMates on Prime. I like the concept. I have seen the whole show twice now and the crazy thing is I think I might see it again. In the show, a company takes your DNA and stuff to find your soulmate: your so-called perfect partner. Obviously, with this sort of service available, everyone seems to be interested in it, both single and married people. The latter being people that are going through a tough time or just think that maybe they are married to the wrong person. They leave their relationship in hopes of finding a more suitable partner to spend their lives with. Yeah okay, of course, it’s going to be amazing the first couple of months or even the first year, but it doesn’t mean it’s always going to be all fun and games for the next 20, 30, or even 50 years.

They might still hit the same rut they did with their previous marriage. It takes work from two willing parties, and obviously, if you or your partner is not willing to do the work then I can see why you would want to take the test to find someone new. It begs the question, what happens if you find out that maybe the person you are with is not your actual soulmate (if you believe in that sort of thing).

Soulmates take the whole Married at First Sight thing one step further. In the Married at First Sight tv show, a few people chit-chat and analyse you as a person and what you have stated is important to you in a relationship, and then choose a partner they believe is best suited for you.

I love the DNA bit and evaluating things beyond just talking to matchmakers. But my main concern is, at the end of the day if someone is matched with you as a result of your DNA or samples given doesn’t that mean you may be related? doesn’t that mean that person may be your long-lost cousin or something? If I was the one, after being matched with someone, the first thing I would suggest is to take a test to see if we are related. That would be my worry. I guess I would hope that they would test for that as well to make sure that they’re not having people in incensed relationships and giving birth to lizards or something like that. That’s the freaky part of it anyways.

The show isn’t all fun and games and the first episode is a bit predictable. Some episodes are a bit creepy and maybe even straight-up bizarre. The last episode, especially, got me wide-eyed screaming ‘oh my gosh!’ in my head over and over again. So yeah I would definitely recommend you check it out for yourself especially if you’re a fan of Married at First Sight.

That’s all I have for you today. Thank you for spending time with me and I hope you’ll be back here again next week Wednesday. Have a great rest of the week!
