I recently saw the movie Widows. I know I’m incredibly late to the game but oh well. When I saw Viola Davis and Liam Neeson were in it I immediately clicked on it without bothering to know what it was about. That’s one fire combo I was not about to pass up. It could have been a movie about singing rats for all I cared, I would have still watched it and made myself like it. So take whatever I say about the movie with a massive pinch of salt because I am clearly shamelessly biased. Anyway, back to the world-renowned incredibly executed movie (I warned you I might be biased). It was basically about people you least expect pulling off a massive robbery.
Judging a Book by Its cover really is a bitch! I mean, I do actually judge most books by their covers if I don’t know the author, but it’s a lot trickier with people. People are rarely what they seem. Given the right motivation and circumstances, I believe that anyone can do anything.
It got me thinking of being underestimated. If you are underestimated, then whatever you succeed in is a surprise to everyone. You can basically get away with anything because people don’t see it coming. You are free of that overwhelming pressure to succeed and fueled by sheer will. If there’s something you want to do and you feel like people don’t believe in you or don’t support you or even don’t think you will make it in said thing, maybe it’s time to look at it as a good thing. It’s time to see the glass as half empty instead of half full.
There’s no pressure. All you have to do is give it your all and whatever will be will be. The only person you have to impress is yourself, so just go out and do it. Unleash the strength within and prove to yourself you can do whatever you set your mind to. I think we are all much stronger than we think we are.
On another note, it was kinda nice to see Liam Neeson play a bad guy for a change. I mean, he is always saving people and being the one with high morals. But he was a real motherfucker in that movie! Viola’s acting was just badass as usual. Although… that beginning got me like… erm… okay…
P.s. what happened to their son really got to me. I was so shocked and nearly cried! To see a young person’s life just being wasted like that! Bloody hell! To think that this actually happens in real life! My heart goes out to anyone that has gone through this. It really is the worst thing!
have a great rest-of-the-week and hopefully, you’ll be back here again next week Wednesday.
